Handcrafted by Ethiopian Jewish artisans from the historic pottery village of Wolleka around the mid-20th century, this piece is an extraordinary example of historic Judaic folk art from Africa. The figure features an anthropomorphic stylized face wearing a traditional patterned headdress, uniquely crowned with a prominent Star of David (Magen David) emblem. The body is intricately decorated with traditional hand-etched geometric textures, an upturned loop tail, and a rich, characteristic matte charcoal finish. This measures approx. 6" tall, 4.25" wide and structurally sound with crisp details. No visible chips, breaks, or repairs.
