Up for sale is a stunning, authentic Polish porcelain figurine of a Chow Chow dog. Designed in the 1960's by the legendary sculptor Mieczysław Naruszewicz for the renowned Ćmielów Porcelain Manufactory, this piece is a quintessential example of European mid-century "New Look" design. The dog measures approx. 3.25" tall but please note there is a small chip present on the lower edge of one paw (see final photos). The piece still stands beautifully and displaying it hides the imperfection well, but it is priced accordingly for condition. The piece features a striking biomorphic, minimalist silhouette that strips away unnecessary details to focus entirely on the breed's proud stance and fluffy texture. It features a unique, delicate grey/white glaze with fine vertical brushed lines simulating the dog's thick coat.
