Up for sale is a beautiful vintage composite/resin sculpture by renowned Italian artist G. Ruggeri. This piece measures approx. 9.25 inches tall and is a detailed replica modeled after Valerio Cioli’s famous 1560 Renaissance sculpture, Fontana del Bacchino (The Fountain of the Little Bacchus), located in the Boboli Gardens of Florence, Italy. It depicts the famous court dwarf, Braccio di Bartolo (nicknamed Morgante), riding a tortoise. High-quality Italian molded resin/bonded alabaster with excellent weight, fine texture, and crisp sculptural details. Mounted on a handsome marble base that measures approx. 4.75 inches x 4 inches. There is one flaw on one of the tortoise paws - it appears some claw tips may have broken off as shown in the pictures.
