This is a 1942-D Lincoln Wheat Ear Cent 1C Penny bronze coin from the United States Mint. This small cent features a Lincoln Wheat design and is composed of bronze. It was struck in a business setting in Denver and has a red color. The coin holds a historical significance as it was issued during a time when the U.S was transitioning from copper currency to a steel-based currency due to wartime shortages. These coins were acquired from a long time numismatic collector. The coin is encapsulated in a plastic case.
