Up for sale is a beautiful vintage pair of hand-painted monochrome porcelain decorative plates. These stunning artisan pieces feature a highly detailed, dramatic black and gray ink-wash landscape style reminiscent of traditional Japanese sumi-e silhouette art. The scenes display tranquil lakes reflecting majestic mountains, flying birds, and detailed evergreen fir trees. There are a few minor areas of surface discoloration within the painted landscape scene due to age. Each plate measures approximately 6.625 inches in diameter. The bottoms of the ceramic blanks are white, with one plate hand-signed and dated by the artist in gold script: "V. Milhdan 75" (dating the pieces to 1975). Both plates feature a subtle metallic trim around the rim. The unglazed backs show some light storage marks and scuffing.
